Only one month's reserves to carry forward our work
12 July 09
Dear
Contributors,
Assalamu 'alaikum,
The genesis of Charity Alliance in early 2005 was out of the necessity to
do something about the starvation deaths in Murshidabad area of West
Bengal. Since then our work in Murshidabad in continues without any break
because of the support of people like you, alhamdulillah. We have
been distributing food every week to about 150 families and
offering medical aid as well. Each year we have been paying the
fees and buying books for about 100 students there. Since last year we
have also started a Vocational Training Centre there teaching
tailoring and embroidery to begin with. This year, Alhamdulillah, we have
been able to setup Alliance School in Murshidabad and the current
student strength is 189. The school is housed in a rented building at
present but soon with Allah's grace and help from brothers and sisters
like you, we hope to build a school campus which, insha Allah, will evolve
into a higher secondary school and vocational institute.
Apart from Murshidabad, which remains our main focus, during the last
financial year we supported:
Radiance Islamic Nursery School, Faizabad, UP
Milli Model School, New Delhi
Maktab Islamia Girls Hr. Sec. School, Unchegaon, UP
Tuition centre for educational weak children in Sultan Daki, Uri (J&K)
Riot Victims through Calamity Relief Foundation, Assam
Individual cases for Educational, Medical aid
We have also sent Rs 50,000 for the victims of Cyclone Aila to
spend through the All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat West Bengal unit.
After this month we will be left with only one month’s reserves to carry
forward our work.
Charity Alliance is very conscious to use every penny of your donation to
help some of those who are really poor in our society and cannot rise
without the help of an extended hand. Thanks to the administrative and
media support by The Milli Gazette, almost every paisa of your support
reaches the beneficiaries.
Once again, I thank you very much for your kind support to our mission to
take care of some of the most disadvantaged sections of our community
through extending food and medical relief and offering educational
opportunities to children who otherwise would not enter a school.
Your continued support is very much appreciated and needed in order to
continue and broaden the sphere of this effort. Your donations to us are
Tax exempted u/s 80G.
With warm regards,
Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan
